Sharon Snider-Wilkinson

I am a former student of Creative Photography at St Lawrence College in Kingston Ontario for three levels with Mieke van Geest and have gone on with my fellow members of the group of photographers in Kingston known as XCeption to take a private levels four and five courses with Mieke. I have taken several portraiture courses and workshops over the years and am a former student of several on line learning courses in Photography.

I am a member of the Kingston Photographic Club where I have had the distinction of being a previous recipient of the People's Choice Award. I am also a member with the Canadian I have received Honorable Mention with the Department of Government of Canada's National Defence Photographic Contest in 2011.

I am a founding member of a group of photographers known as XCeption. I, along with the rest of the members of XCeption, held several successful gallery shows both at Verb Gallery and Taylor Studio Gallery in Kingston, Ontario.

I currently reside in Kingston with my husband, soul mate and all around great cook and dog after having relocated in 2006 from the Ottawa area.

I am a mother to five really great children (two boys and three girls) (his and mine) and "Gangie" to eleven grandchildren (six boys and five girls).

My background is public administration working with both Municipal and Federal Government organizations and departments as well as Crown Corporations. I am a retired officer with the Canadian Armed Forces where, over the years, I taught Military Administration in Toronto at the staff school, at CFB London and at CFB Edmonton in the former base Greisbach.

I am currently employed as a medical finance clerk with the Department of National Defence at CFB Kingston. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.
